A filter block for filtering particles contained in the exhaust gas of an internal combustion engine, comprising a plurality of channels (25) for the circulation of said gas, a channel defined by a wall (17i) provided with a filtering zone (F) and which opens out towards the outside via an opening, a group of channels comprising at least two channels with different respective F/P ratios between surface F of the filtering zone and surface P of the wall. According to the invention, one channel of the group of channels (27) comprises an opening whose surface O is larger than the surface F of the filtering zone of said channel.

Bloc filtrant pour la filtration de particules contenues dans les gaz d'échappement d'un moteur à combustion interne, comprenant une pluralité de canaux de circulation (25) desdits gaz, un canal étant délimité par une paroi (17i) pourvue d'une zone de filtration (F) et débouchant vers l'extérieur par une ouverture, un groupe de canaux comportant au moins deux canaux dont les rapports F/P respectifs entre surface F de zone de filtration et surface P de paroi sont différents. Selon l'invention, un canal de ce groupe de canaux (27) comporte une ouverture dont la surface O est d'autant plus grande que la surface F de ladite zone de filtration dudit canal est grand.
