A method and apparatus for sealing the opposed side edges of a fluid treating belt filter (3) by employing an inflatable elastic tube (18). Opposed sealing surfaces are spaced apart from each other defining a gap there between which can be brought into sealing relationship by activation of the tube (18). The tube (18) being tested prior to and during sealing. Fluid that bypasses the seal are collected for rycycle.

L'invention concerne un procédé et un dispositif permettant de joindre les bords latéraux opposés d'un filtre à bande (3) destiné au traitement de fluides, à l'aide d'un tube (18) élastique gonflable. Les surface d'étanchéité opposées sont écartées l'une de l'autre et elles définissent un creux pouvant être fermé hermétiquement par activation du tube (18). Le tube (18) est testé avant et pendant l'étanchéification. Les fluides contournant le joint sont collectés de manière à être recyclés.
