Disclosed is a filter cigarette whose filter a) contains fibrous filter material, b) contains an additive with antimutagenic effects on the cigarette smoke in a quantity equivalent to less than 15 wt % of the weight of fibre and c) during test smoking of an unventilated filter cigarette of this type but containing no additive, has a nicotine retention R N (in %, determined according to CORESTA, recommended method no. 9) which satisfies the following formula: R N <= 100 * (1-D), in which D = exp (A * B + C), A being 21 mm - filter length (mm) for filter lengths <= 25 mm or A being -4 mm for filter lengths > 25 mm, B being 9.3 * 10-3 (1/mm) and C being -(d4 * .DELTA.p * K + L) with d = filter diameter (mm) wherein .DELTA.p = draw resistance of the filter (mmWS), K = 1.0228 * 10-6 (1/(mm4 * mmWs)) and L = 0.2334. With this filter, it has been shown with the Ames test with strain TA 98 that mutagenic substances can be filtered with a selectivity at least % better than other smoke components. Also disclosed is an especially suitable process for producing such a filter cigarette.

L'invention concerne une cigarette filtre dont le filtre a) contient un matériau de filtrage fibreux et b) un additif à effet antimutagène sur la fumée de cigarette dans une proportion inférieure à 15 % de la masse par rapport au poids en fibres du filtre et c) présente, lors de la consommation d'une cigarette similaire mais contenant aucun additif et non ventilée, une rétention de nicotine RN (en %) (déterminée conformément à CORESTA, procédé n DEG 9 recommandé) qui correspond à la formule suivante: RN >/= 100 * (1-D), sachant que D = exp (A * B + C) où A = 21 mm - longueur du filtre (mm) pour des longueurs de filtre </= 25 mm ou bien A = -4 mm pour des longueurs de filtre > 25 mm, B = 9,3 * 10<-3> (1/mm) et C = -(d<4> * DELTA p * K + L), où d = diamètre du filtre (mm), DELTA p = résistance à la traction du filtre (mmWS), K = 1,0228 * 10<-6> (1/(mm<4> * mmWs)) et L = 0,2334. Ce filtre permet de filtrer les substances à effet mutagène, mesurées selon le test Ames avec la souche TA 98, avec une sélectivité au moins 10 % supérieure par rapport aux autres constituants de la fumée. L'invention concerne également un procédé adéquat pour la fabrication de telles cigarettes filtres.
