ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE FILTER CRUSHER A crushing device for use with used oil filters comprises a housing defining an anvil plate at one end of the housing. A ram is positioned within the housing and includes a ram plate movable toward the anvil to compress the filter therebetween. The filter is of the type including a filter material within an outside casing and a sealing ring at one end of the outside casing surrounding the openings through which the oil flow normally occurs. The anvil plate is smooth and flat except for a substantially central opening so that the oil expressed from the filter as it is crushed is carefully passed through the opening for collection. Confining walls surrounding the filter when in position on the anvil ensure that the opening in the anvil is maintained within the bounds of the sealing ring. A safety door is positioned on the front face of the housing and can be moved manually to expose the crushing chamber.
