27543-5 ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A filter is disclosed for separating solid material particles from gaseous or liquid media, typically dust particles from atmospheric air etc., by means of a permeable, inherently stable, porous, foam-like moulded element of plastic, metal or glass. The element is produced by bonding suitable powdered particles of the aforementioned materials and the bonding process is effected in moulds having the desired space structure of the filter. The large pores existing in the surface of the filter are filled with a filling material (powder) of defined grain size and, in the process, air-permeable areas are created of two different, but definable, pore sizes, depending on the grain distribution in the filling material.
