In order to be able to change the taste of the filtered coffee produced, the filter paper insert (1) is provided with a coating (3) that consists of a flavoring material constituting a flavor carrier, a carrier material, and a solvent. Such a coating (3) can be sprayed or pressed onto the filter paper of the filter paper insert (1), or applied otherwise to the latter, and after this application dries relatively quickly. In spite of that, the flavoring materials are integrated into the coating (3) and are again activated when the hot brewing water passes through the filter paper insert (1) in order to produce a filtered coffee.
