ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A filter press for separating liquid from the sludge silt including running filter strips guided by rollers journalled in bearings in a girder frame of the filter press. A side section of the frame has removable frame sections for use in exchanging the filter strips and an opposite side section of the frame has pull rods, supporting the frame during such exchange of the filter strips. The lower ends of the pull rods are at the ends of support extensions extending sideways from a lower part of the frame and the upper ends of the pull rods are attached to an upper section of the frame.
