A B S T R A C T A filter for use on a pressurized air line includes a cylindrical housing having an inlet end and an outlet end, each end being adapted for attachment to a pressurized air line. An inlet cap is located immediately inward of the inlet end of the housing, and has a central orifice and a flanged body engaging with the inner surface of the housing. An outlet cap is located immediately inward of the outlet end of the housing, and has a flanged body engaging with the inner surface of the body, and a plurality of orifices around its perimeter. A wire mesh filter element extends between the inlet cap and the outlet cap. The wire mesh element is helically twisted from end to end. A fabric filter element is wrapped around the wire mesh filter element. Air entering the inlet end will pass through the inlet end, through the central orifice of the inlet cap, through the wire mesh filter element which will tend to cause the air to create a vortex, through the fabric filter element, through the plurality of orifices in said outlet cap and through said outlet.
