ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The invention provides a filter tip for a smoking product, in particular a cigarette, having a cylindrical filter rod, from which the smoke flowing from the mouth end emerges deflected from the direction of flow. The deflec- tion of the smoke can be achieved without additional mea- sures if the limiting surfaces of the mouth end of the filter rod form an angle of not less than 5° with the plane of cross-section of the filter rod. Cigarettes having a filter tip in accordance with the invention have a markedly fuller smoke flavour combined with reduced sharpness and roughness of the smoke.
