Abstract of the Disclosure A filter holder for making coffee or tea, includes means for closing the bottom outlet-aperture consisting of a clamping lever mounted pivotably to the upper edge of the holder. The underside of the lever comprises a clamping cam within the pivoting range of which is located a section of a member, moulded to the closure-rod, running parallel with the pivot axis, with a resilient strip moulded to the underside of that section, running parallel with the longitudinal axis of the closure-rod and passing through an opening in the carrying handle of the filter holder. Actuation of the clamping lever can be done with the thumb of one hand to open or close the filter holder, more conveniently than with prior such devices.
