A filter vial and piston are provided where the vial has a cylindrical wall with a closed bottom and open top and with the hollow, tubular piston (10) therein. The piston has a distal end covered by a cup (30) having a proximal cup seal extending outward to engage the walls of the vial to form a fluid tight seal with the vial during use. The distal end of the piston has a pist flange extending outwardly and located adjacent a recess in the piston so th cup forms a snap fit over the piston flange and extends into the recess. The piston flange causes the cup to bulge sufficiently outward to form a fluid tight seal with the vial during use. A filter (16) is placed in the bottom o the cup and abuts an inwardly extending lip on the cup. The filter is held against the lip by a piston support at the distal end of the piston. A cup support at a distal end of the cup also helps support the filter.
Linvention concerne un flacon filtrant et un piston, le flacon ayant une paroi cylindrique avec une base fermée et un sommet ouvert, le piston tubulaire creux (10) étant à lintérieur. Le piston présente une extrémité distale couverte par une coupelle (30) ayant un joint de coupelle proximal sétendant vers lextérieur pour venir en prise avec les parois du flacon pour former un joint étanche aux fluides avec le flacon en cours dutilisation. Lextrémité distale du piston présente une bride de piston sétendant vers lextérieur et située de façon adjacente à un renfoncement dans le piston de sorte que la coupelle forme un ajustement serré sur la bride de piston et sétend dans le renfoncement. La bride de piston amène la coupelle à se bomber suffisamment vers lextérieur pour former un joint étanche aux fluides avec le flacon en cours dutilisation. Un filtre (16) est placé au fond de la coupelle et vient en butée contre une lèvre sétendant vers lintérieur sur la coupelle. Le filtre est retenu contre la lèvre par un support de piston à lextrémité distale du piston. Un support de coupelle à lextrémité distale de la coupelle aide également à porter le filtre.
