Abstract of the Disclosure The invention is concerned with a filter bed for the separation of water from granulated blast furnace slag, comprising a plurality of adjacent containers, each container having solid filter material therein and including four sidewalls, a bottom and a cover, the bottom and cover being spaced apart by the four sidewalls; the four sidewalls, bottom and cover are perforated to permit filtrate passage therethrough. The filter bed according to the invention enables one to accomplish a rapid and problem free repairing of damaged filter beds without having to remove or completely rebuild the entire filter bed.
