FILTERED ROOF VENTILATOR ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A roof ventilator is provided with a porous, non- woven, fibrous filter medium having a substantial thickness and selectively installed to prevent the inadvertent infiltra- tion of moisture through the ventilator into the attic space below the roof of a building. The filter medium is frictionally retained in operative position engaged over openings of such a ventilator by a screen of wire mesh juxtaposed the filter medium. In operative position, the filter medium presents a high impudence to and will trap or filter moisture from air entering the ventilator from ambient atmosphere and yet, presents a low impedance to and will permit exhausting of air through the ventilator to ambient atmosphere. The filter medium additionally acts as a barrier against insects so that the screen may have a larger than normal mesh which provides a greater net free open area of the ventilator.
