This invention relates to a filtering cartridge, without asbestos, for the filtration of gases, in particular of hot and/or radio-active and/or corrosive gases. Said cartridge is composed of a substantially cylindrical, hollow body, closed at one of its ends and open on the other end, containing at least 50% by weight of alumina and/or zircon and possibly being provided with means for supporting it on a plate; said body being obtained by moulding in vacuo of a slip comprising fibers of alumina and/or zircon whose diameter is less than 20 µm and length less than 25 mm, colloidal silica, at least one organic binding agent and at least one deflocculant, then drying and heat treatment at a sufficient temperature to volatilize the or each organic binding agent and the or each deflocculant.
La présente invention concerne une cartouche de filtration, sans amiante, pour la filtration des gaz, en particulier les gaz chauds et/ou radioactifs et/ou corrosifs. Ladite cartouche est composée d'un corps creux, substantiellement cylindrique, fermé à une extrémité, contenant au moins 50 % en poids d'alumine et/ou de zircon et, éventuellement, un moyen pour le supporter sur une plaque; ledit corps étant obtenu par moulage sous vide d'un mélange aqueux comprenant des fibres d'alumine et/ou de zircon dont le diamètre est inférieur à 20 micromètres et la longueur inférieure à 25 mm, de la silice colloïdale, au moins un liant organique et au moins un défloculant, puis par séchage et traitement thermique à une température suffisante pour volatiliser le (ou les) liant(s) organique(s) et le (ou les) défloculant(s).
