A filtering device for the particulate and volatile substances present in the emission gas of internal combustion engines, receives gas from the exhaust of a motor vehicle through a conveying duct; the device comprises a filter connected to the conveying duct and a heat exchanger positioned and connected so as to receive the emission gas from the conveying duct and send it to the filter, a control valve, suitable for regulating the temperature of the emission gas entering the filter, by deviating a aliquot of the flow of emission gas coming from the vehicle exhaust to send it to the heat exchanger.
