ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A filtering device is provided for making drinks such as coffee. The container has a base which has openings for the drained filtrate. The base also has radial ribs which project into the container cavity. A fine fabric sieve is supported on these ribs. The base is provided in its central area with a disc-shaped insert the height of which corresponds to the distance between the upper surface of the base and the lower surface of the sieve. The sieve lies on the insert as well as on the radial ribs.
