ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An electrical lighting fixture having a housing which defines two enclosures thermally insulated and physically displaced from each other. An air gap is provided between the enclosures through which cooling air can flow. A lamp is positioned in one of the enclosures with control equipment for the lamp in the other. The enclosure containing the lamp is maintained at a pressure other than ambient pressure and means are provided for detecting a change in pressure within the housing and for discontinuing electrical supply to the fitting in the event of a predetermined pressure change.
