A moving picture coding apparatus includes ( i ) an inter-pixel filter (114) having the following filters for filtering decoded image data so as to remove block distortion which is high frequency noise around block boundaries: a filter A114a; a filter B114b, a filter C114c, a filter D114d, each having a different filtering strength, and ( ii ) a filter processing control unit (110) for determining a filtering strength of the inter-pixel filter (114).

L'invention concerne un dispositif d'encodage d'images animées, qui comprend un filtre inter-pixels (114) constitué d'un filtre A (114a), d'un filtre B (114b), d'un filtre C (114c) et d'un filtre D (114d). Chaque filtre présente une intensité de filtrage différente permettant de filtrer des données d'image décodées et d'éliminer une distorsion de bloc qui est un bruit haute fréquence présente à proximité de la frontière entre des blocs. Le dispositif d'encodage présente également une section de commande de traitement de filtrage (110) pour déterminer l'intensité de filtrage du filtre inter-pixels (114).
