An electrospinning fine fiber production methodology for generating a significant amount of fibers with diameters of less than 100 nanometers is provided. Also, a filter media composite comprising a substrate layer and an electrospun fine fiber layer having a increased efficiency relative to pressure drop and/or a controlled pore size distribution is provided. According to some embodiments nylon is electrospun from a solvent combination of formic and acetic acids.

L'invention concerne une méthodologie de production de fibre fine par électrofilage pour produire une quantité importante de fibres ayant des diamètres inférieurs à 100 nanomètres. L'invention concerne également un milieu filtrant composite comprenant une couche de substrat et une couche de fine fibre électrofilée ayant une efficacité accrue par rapport à une chute de pression et/ou une répartition de dimension de pore commandée. Selon certains modes de réalisation du Nylon est électrofilé à partir d'une combinaison de solvant d'acides formique et acétique.
