A filter unit suitable for use in a filtration system is disclosed herein, the filter unit having a receptacle having an inlet, an interior chamber, and an outlet. A filter element may be positioned within the interior chamber of the receptacle, the filter element and receptacle adapted to permit fluid flowing into the inlet of the receptacle to enter the interior chamber of the receptacle, pass through the filter element, and exit the receptacle through the outlet. The filter unit further includes an indicator having a first reservoir in fluid communication with the interior chamber of the receptacle, at least a portion of the first reservoir being visible to a user, and a first flow restrictor positioned between the first reservoir and the interior chamber of the receptacle.
