Liquid crystalline polymers may be melt formed with very fine features such as ridges and/or channels molded into the resulting solid article. Ridges and/or grooves as little as 0.1 micron wide and/or a little as 10 nm deep and/or ridges or grooves as little as 0.2 micron apart may be molded into LCPs under the proper molding conditions. Other features of similar sizes, such as depressions or high points, may also be molded into LCP parts. These articles are useful as and/or may be readily converted to diffraction gratings, printed circuits, and other useful items.
