The invention relates to fine-particled polymer dispersions which contain starch and which are obtained by emulsion copolymerisation with redox initiators of ethylenically unsaturated monomers from the group containing (a) 45 - 55 wt. % of at least one, optionally substituted, styrene, methacrylic acid methylester, acrylonitrile and/or methacrylonitrile, (b) 15 - 29 wt.- % of at least one acrylic acid-C1-C12-alkyl ester and/or a methacrylic acid-C2- C12-alkyl ester and, (c) 0 - 10 wt.- % of at least one other ethylenically unsaturated copolymerisable monomer, in an aqueous medium in the presence of (d) 15 - 35 wt. % of a degraded cationised starch, which has a molar mass Mw of between 1000 - 65 000. The total (a) + (b) + (c) + (d) = 100 % and refers to the total content of solid material. The invention also relates to a method for producing said type of polymer dispersions by means of emulsion polymerisation of the monomers (a), (b) and (c) in an aqueous medium with redox initiators in the presence of (d) cationic starch and to the use of polymer dispersions containing starch as resizing agents for paper, pulp and cardboard.
L'invention concerne des dispersions polymères amylacées à fines particules, ces dispersions étant obtenues par copolymérisation en émulsion au moyen d'initiateurs redox de monomères éthyléniquement insaturés du groupe comprenant (a) 45 à 55 % en poids d'au moins un styrène éventuellement substitué, d'ester méthylique d'acide méthacrylique, de nitrile acrylique et/ou méthacrylique, (b) 15 à 29 % en poids d'au moins un ester d'alkyle C1-C12 d'acide acrylique et/ou un ester d'alkyle C2-C12 d'acide méthacrylique, et (c) 0 à 10 % en poids d'au moins un autre monomère copolymérisable éthyléniquement insaturé, dans un milieu aqueux en présence de (d) 15 à 35 % en poids d'un amidon cationique dégradé ayant une masse molaire Mw de 1000 à 65 000, la somme(a) + (b) + (c) + (d) = 100 % relativement à la teneur totale en matières solides. La présente invention porte également sur un procédé pour réaliser des dispersions polymères de ce type par polymérisation en émulsion des monomères (a), (b) et (c) dans un milieu aqueux au moyen d'initiateurs redox en présence (d) d'un amidon cationique, et sur l'utilisation de ces dispersions polymères amylacées comme agents de collage pour papier, carton-pâte et carton.
