ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE FINGER GUARD FOR DOORS A safety device for removable attachment to a door is disclosed to prevent the door from closing in an uncontrolled fashion causing accidental injury to human fingers caught between the door and the door frame. A resilient body made of lightweight material having a thickness greater than a human finger is provided which may be suspended from a doorknob. In one embodiment, the body is able to swing outwardly between the door and the door jamb under the force of wind or air pressure generated by closing of the door, thereby causing the body to come between the door and the door frame to prevent normal closure. In another embodiment, the body is positioned on the doorknob in a friction tight manner so that it always projects beyond the edge of the door, and is moved away from this position by the turning of the doorknob to allow the door to be closed.
