A composition for finishing, preserving and cleaning lithographic printing plates which is composed of a polyol having a molecular weight in the range of from about 50 to about 3,000; a starch or dextrin hydrophilic film former; an alkyl benzene sulfonate amine salt; a composition of hydrocarbons containing less than about 10% aromatics and having a boiling point in the range of 175°F to 500°F and a flash point of above 100°F; a hydrogen, isooctyl, nonyl, decy or dodecyl substituted phenoxypoly(oxyethylene) ethanol surfactant having an HLB of 8 to 15; a C12 to C20 alcohol; mono-, di- or tri- ethanolamine; an organic or inorganic acid and water. The optional inclusion of a buffer salt and bacteriostat is preferred.
Composition pour la finition, la conservation et le nettoyage des planches d'impression lithographique qui est composée d'un polyol dont le poids moléculaire varie d'environ 50 à environ 3 000; d'une substance filmogène hydrophile à base d'amidon ou de dextrine; d'un sel d'amine de benzène-sulfonate d'alkyle; d'une composition d'hydrocarbures contenant moins d'environ 10 % d'aromatiques et ayant un point d'ébullition se situant entre 175 et 500 degrés F et un point d'éclair supérieur à 100 degrés F; d'un surfactant phénoxypoly(oxyétylène)-éthanol substitué par un hydrogène, un groupe isooctyle, nonyle, décyle ou dodécyle ayant un rapport hydrophile-lipophile de 8 à 15; d'un alcool en C12-C20; de mono-, di- ou triéthanolamine; d'un acide organique ou inorganique et d'eau. L'inclusion facultative d'un sel tampon et d'un composé bactériostatique est jugée préférable.
