Disclosed is a catheter, more particularly a guiding catheter. The guiding catheter has a proximal portion which comprises a cuff that comprises a fold of an inner tubular layer folder over at least one of a catheter body and a reinforcement layer. The cuff is disposed a distance along a radially outwardly facing outer surface of the guiding catheter.
