ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: Finned metal tubes for heat exchangers wherein the outer surface of the tube is provided with a plurality of radial fins of elliptical cross-section arranged in rows equally spaced along its entire surface. The major axes of the elliptical fins located in each row are mutually parallel and extend either parallel, or at 90°, or 45°, with respect to the axis of the tube. Each fin in a row is staggered with respect to the corresponding fins of the adjoining rows.
