An alarm for detecting radiation and/or pollutants such as smoke, carbon monoxide or the like has a housing (3, 4), a mounting plate (2) for mounting the housing to a flat surface, cooperating means (25, 12) on the housing and the mounting plate engageable to secure the housing to the mounting plate, and an alarm circuit (70) including a detector (74) for detecting the radiation and/or pollutants. The alarm also has a switch (101) in the alarm circuit in the housing (3, 4) and a magnet on the mounting plate (2), the arrangement being such that the magnet actuates the switch in response to engagement of the housing with the mounting plate thereby to arm the circuit. A battery compartment (11) in the housing (3, 4) receives a battery for the alarm and stop means (13, 14, 19, 28) prevent proper engagement of the cooperating means (25, 12) in the absence of the battery. The mounting plate (2) is generally planar having an upper surface (2a) and a through-opening (20) for receiving a fixing such as a screw for fixing the mounting plate to a generally flat surface. The through-opening is elongate having an enlarged portion (22) for passage of the head of the fixing through the through-opening, a narrowed portion (21) for retention of the head and a neck portion (23) therebetween. The alarm circuit (70) also preferably includes actuation means configured to scroll through the various functions of the alarm when the actuation means is activated in a particular fashion.
L'invention concerne une alarme pour détecter un rayonnement et/ou des polluants tels que de la fumée, du monoxyde de carbone ou similaire, laquelle alarme comporte un boîtier (3, 4), une plaque de montage (2) pour monter le boîtier sur une surface plate, des moyens coopérants (25, 12) sur le boîtier et la plaque de montage engageables pour fixer le boîtier à la plaque de montage, et un circuit d'alarme (70) comprenant un détecteur (74) pour détecter le rayonnement et/ou les polluants. L'alarme comporte également un commutateur (101) dans le circuit d'alarme dans le boîtier (3, 4) et un aimant sur la plaque de montage (2), l'agencement étant tel que l'aimant actionne le commutateur en réponse à l'engagement du boîtier avec la plaque de montage, pour armer de cette façon le circuit. Un compartiment de batterie (11) dans le boîtier (3, 4) reçoit une batterie pour l'alarme et des moyens de butée (13, 14, 19, 28) empêchent un engagement correct des moyens coopérants (25, 12) en l'absence de la batterie. La plaque de montage (2) est généralement plane, ayant une surface supérieure (2a) et une ouverture traversante (20) pour recevoir une fixation, telle qu'une vis, pour une fixation de la plaque de montage à une surface généralement plate. L'ouverture traversante est allongée, ayant une partie élargie (22) pour le passage de la tête de la fixation à travers l'ouverture traversante, une partie rétrécie (21) pour la retenue de la tête et une partie de col (23) entre les deux. Le circuit d'alarme (70) comprend également, de préférence, un moyen d'actionnement configuré pour défiler à travers les diverses fonctions de l'alarme lorsque le moyen d'actionnement est activé d'une manière particulière.
