Multi-dimensional, multi-layered, fire barriers for use in multi-dimensional architectural expansion joints may comprise a plurality of fire resistant material layers and the method for making such barriers is taught. The layers comprising the fire barriers may be connected together by stitching with high temperature thread, by stapling, by pins and bolts, by adhesive, or by any other bonding method. The fire barriers may be designed, for example, for use in a corner junction expansion joint, in a "T'-shaped expansion joint, or in a 4-way expansion joint, for example. A fire barrier may comprise: at least one protective and mechanically supporting layer; at least one insulating layer, and at least one layer of intumescent material, wherein the insulating layer is disposed between the mechanical support layer and the intumescent layer. The fire barriers may be provided completely ready to install or ready to assemble, as desired.
L'invention concerne des coupe-feux multicouches, multidimensionnels à utiliser dans des joints de dilatation architecturaux multidimensionnels, qui peuvent comprendre une pluralité de couches de matériau résistant au feu ; ainsi que des procédés de production desdits coupe-feux. Les couches comprenant lesdits coupe-feux peuvent être reliées les unes aux autres par raccord au moyen d'un fil haute température, à l'aide d'agrafes, d'attaches et de boulons, d'adhésif ou par tout autre procédé de liaison. Lesdits coupe-feux peuvent être conçus, par exemple, pour une utilisation dans un joint de dilatation de jonction de coin, dans un joint de dilatation en T, ou dans un joint de dilatation à quatre voies. Un coupe-feu peut comprendre : au moins une couche de support mécanique et de protection ; au moins une couche d'isolation ; et au moins une couche de matériau intumescent, la couche d'isolation étant disposée entre la couche de support mécanique et la couche de matériau intumescent. Lesdits coupe-feux peuvent être fournis prêts à installer, ou prêts à assembler, selon les besoins.
