ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A fire-extinguishing system is coupled with a guarding system for protecting the same region as that covered by the fire- extinguishing system and having a switching manipulator to switch over the guarding system between its operative condition and inop- erative condition, whereby the fire-extinguishing system can be set to an automatic operating mode in response to a signal from the switching manipulator and representative of the guarding system be- ing in its operative condition and can be set to a manual operating mode in response to a signal from the switching manipulator and re- presentative of the guarding system being in its inoperative condi- tion.
