ABSTRACT Fire hazard control. The fire hazard control material disclosed wholly or mainly consists of particles of crushed vitreous material which bear a hydrophobic coating. Optionally the material contains one or more particulate adjuvants selected from salts and/or spherulized vitreous beads which bear a hydrophobic coating. Graphite particles may be used in addition to a salt. The median grain size of the crushed vitreous particles is preferably below 120 micrometres, for example in the range 25 to 35 micrometres.
