A fire-resistant block (30) containing a fire-resistant gel (34) covering one or more interior faces of the block. The gel expands towards the interior of the block when exposed to increased temperatures. This block is lighter, less expensive, and more fire-resistant. A plurality of these blocks may be combined to form a fire-resistant wall or partition.

L'invention concerne un bloc résistant au feu (30) contenant un gel résistant au feu (34) recouvrant une ou plusieurs faces intérieures du bloc. Le gel se répand dans le bloc lorsque celui-ci est exposé à des températures élevées. Ce bloc est plus léger, moins coûteux et présente une meilleure résistance au feu.
