Laminates suitable for constructing waterproof and breathable articles such as protective clothing which are both comfortable and exhibit enhanced resistance to fire are described. Particularly, flame resistant laminate constructions are described comprising a meltable textile as the outermost layer laminated to an intermediate protective layer comprising a waterproof film laminated to an innermost fabric layer comprising a thermally stable textile. Laminate constructions of the present invention exhibit breathability on the order of at least 1000 MVTR, a water entry pressure of at least 0.5 psi and have a horizontal flame break open time of at least 10 seconds.
L'invention porte sur des laminés permettant de réaliser des articles imperméables et respirants tels que des vêtements protecteurs à la fois confortables et présentant une résistance au feu améliorée. L'invention porte en particulier sur des articles ignifugés faits de ces laminés comprenant une couche extérieure de textile fusible laminée sur une couche protectrice intermédiaire de film imperméable, elle-même laminée sur une couche intérieure de tissu thermiquement stable. Un tel article présente une respirabilité de l'ordre d'au moins 1000 MVTR, une pression de pénétration de l'eau d'au moins 0,5 psi et un temps ouvert de rupture horizontale au feu d'au moins 10s.
