Abstract of the Disclosure This invention is directed to a ??????? fire resistant demountable partition system. The design comprises gypsum wallboard laminate panels interconnected with non-load bearing steel framing members. The fire resistant wallboard used in the panels is that known in the industry as type X. One suitable type is that sold under the trade mark FIRESTOP-3. The partition system has been assigned a fire resistance rating of one hour when tested in accordance with the Standard for Fire Tests of Building Construction and Materials, Under- writers' Laboratories of Canada Test Procedure S101.
