TITLE OF THE INVENTION FIRE-RETARDANT PARTICLEBOARD ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Flame-retardant particleboard comprising a core of large size wood particles and at least one outer layer of smaller sized wood particles having ammonium polyphosphate therein, is disclosed wherein the pH of the ammonium polyphosphate, wood particles and resin used to bind the particleboard all match to within about 0.5 unit.
