Abstract of the Disclosure A composite building panel particularly well suited for use as roof sheathing is disclosed. The panel consists of two layers adhesively bonded to each other before assembly with the building structure. The first layer, which is preferably either unfaced gypsum fiberboard or glass-mat-faced gypsum board, comprises set gypsum as the major ingredient. The second layer is wood-like material, such as plywood. The roof sheathing panel may advantageously be used in place of FRT plywood in locations in buildings requiring enhanced fire resistance, particularly in the region immediately on either side of the party wall dividing one dwelling unit from another in a multi-unit building, such as a condominium.
