ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The invention is a fire-retardant thermoplastic resin composition which comprises a thermoplastic synthetic resin, at least one magnesium containing inorganic compound selected from magnesium hydroxide, basic magnesium carbonate hydrate and hydrotalcites and a fire-retardant assistant selected from alkali metal chlorides, inorganic tin compounds and combinations of an alkali metal chloride with an inorganic tin compound and/or an inorganic vandium compound.
