A fire truck apparatus is disclosed for transporting water. The apparatus includes a truck chassis and a tank secured to the chassis for the reception therein of the water. The tank has a first and a second end, the second end being secured to the chassis about a pivotal axis. The tank defines an outlet disposed adjacent to the second end of the tank for the flow therethrough of the water from the tank. A lifting arrangement extends between the chassis and the first end of the tank for lifting the tank such that the tank pivots about the pivotal axis for permitting rapid and complete removal of the water from the tank through the outlet. The lifting means includes pneumatic device connected to a source of pressurized air and a control for controlling a flow of the pressurized air from the source to the pneumatic device for controlling pivoting of the tank and the removal of the water therefrom.
