ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A wood burning, free standing fireplace includes a firebox on a base with feet for supporting the fireplace, a top wall, a pair of side passages defined by inner and outer parallel side walls, and a rear passage defined by inner and outer parallel rear walls, combustion air being fed from the outside through the base into the firebox, smoke being discharged from the firebox through an opening between the rear walls and top wall, and room air being blown into one side passage and circu- lated through the rear and side passages for discharge through hot air side openings in the top front end of the fireplace.
