FIREPLACE HEAT AMPLIFIER Abstract of the Disclosure A fireplace heat amplifier is described as adapted to fit in a usual fireplace opening and consisting of a plur- ality of C-shape metal tubes assembled parallel to each other across the fireplace opening and having the mid-run of the tubes generally vertical at the rear and upper and lower runs extending forwardly from the mid-run, together with means for holding these tubes permanently assembled in parallel relation and having means for supporting the tube assembly above the hearth. A long manifold is provided with a series of rear opening which are sealed to the front ends of the lower runs of all of the tubes and the manifold is otherwise closed ex- cept for a single opening in the center of the front wall of the manifold in which is fitted a three-bladed fan rotatable on a horizontal axial shaft, the fan blades being slightly concave in the direction of air flow and all at the same inclined angle relative to the axis of the shaft, with the space between the blades being greater than the width of the blades, so that with the tubes and manifold and fan in place as described, a fire may be placed in material resting upon the lower runs of the C-shape tubes, and even though said motor is not driving said fan, air flow will travel by convection through the spaces be- tween the fan blades and will travel through the manifold and all of the tubes and said air flow will protect the tubes against any substantial fire damage. At all times the fan and its electrical wiring are k -1-ept cool by the cool air flow.
