The invention relates to a fireproof composite yarn comprising between 80 and 90 percent by weight of flameproof fibers, said fibers containing a polymeric material based on polyvinyl alcohol, between 10 and 30 percent by weight of at least one type of thermostable fibers made of a non-flammable material. The invention also relates to a fabric comprising at least one woven or knitted textile layer that is made of such a yarn.

L'invention a pour objet un fil composite anti-feu comprenant: entre 80% et 90% en poids de fibres ignifugées, lesdites fibres comprenant un matériau polymérique à base d'alcool polyvinylique; entre 10% et 30% en poids d'au moins un type de fibres thermostables qui sont formées d'un matériau ininflammable. L'invention concerne également un textile comprenant au moins une couche textile tissée ou tricotée formée avec un tel fil.
