The present invention relates to a fireproof polyamide composition that can essentially be used for manufacturing moulded materials. The invention also relates to a polyamide-based composition containing melamine cyanate and a novolac resin. The composition is particularly useful for making moulded articles used in the field of electric or electronic connector technology, such as members of circuit-breakers, switches or connectors.
