A fish attraction apparatus comprising: a drive motor; a gear box having a downwardly extending output shaft; a spoon drive head assembly having a central shaft having an upper end portion releasably coupled to a lower end portion of the output shaft, and a lower end portion of the central shaft having a radial arm extending outwardly therefrom; and, a light reflective spoon pivotably attached to the outer end portion of the radial arm, said spoon configured to flash light radially outward in random directions as the spoon moves through water. Fish are attracted towards the flashing light from afar. In a preferred aspect of this invention there are multiple radial arms each comprising metallic spokes. The inner end portion of the spoke comprises a bend therealong. The spokes are laterally pivotable within the shaft of the spoon drive assembly so that when the spoke is turned 90 degrees from an outwardly extending position an outer portion of the spoke after the bend becomes generally aligned with the shaft of the spoon drive head so that the spoon drive head assembly can be substantially reduced in diameter without disassembly so that it is insertable through a bore in ice.
