ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The invention relates to a fish culturing method and a sac-fry pond for practising the method. The sac-fry pond is irra- diated by long wavelength infrared rays from above the water surface in the pond and from the bottom of the pond to promote growth of fry in water of a relatively low temperature and without substantially raising the temperature of water. The invention overcomes growth problems which would otherwise occur in cold water.
