14 An auxiliary feeding apparatus (3) for a fish processing machine is described which comprises a conveyor equipped with saddle-like supporting members (1) for supporting the trunks of decapitated fish whose abdominal cavities are open on the ventral side. The auxiliary feeding apparatus (3) comprises an auxiliary saddle (9) for initially supporting each fish to be processed. The auxiliary saddle (9) can be controlled to move into and out of the path of the supporting members (1). The fish to be processed is placed on the auxiliary saddle (9) with its tail leading and, on lowering the auxiliary saddle, is transferred to the supporting member (1). The lowering movement is controlled in such a way, that each fish is taken over by the supporting member without the projecting end (8) of the supporting member coming into contact with the end of the abdominal cavity.

14 Dispositif d'alimentation auxiliaire (3) pour machine de conditionnement du poisson comprenant un convoyeur muni d'éléments de soutien en forme de selle (1) servant à soutenir les troncs des poissons décapités et dont les cavités abdominales sont ouvertes sur la face ventrale. Ce dispositif d'alimentation auxiliaire (3) comporte une selle auxiliaire (9) permettant de retenir initialement chacun des poissons à conditionner. On peut commander le déplacement de cette selle auxiliaire (9) pour la disposer sur la trajectoire des éléments de soutien (1) ou l'en retirer. On place le poisson à conditionner sur la selle auxiliaire (9) queue devant et, lorsque cette selle auxiliaire s'abaisse, il est transféré à l'élément de soutien (1). On commande ce mouvement d'abaissement de manière à ce que chaque poisson soit transféré sur l'élément de soutien sans que l'extrémité saillante (8) de l'élément en question entre en contact avec l'extrémité de la cavité abdominale.
