ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A fish rearing enclosure includes framework which is netted to provide an enclosed space for accommodating marine fish to be cultured. The sides of the enclosure converge upwardly to terminate at a normally horizontal mouth portion whose area size is considerably smaller than that of the contour in plan of the entire structure. A slide fastener or fasteners are attached to the mouth portion of the enclosure which can thus be quickly opened and closed by manipulation of the fastener slider or sliders. The advance in the art is in combined reduced size of the mouth and of the slide fastener which features increase the speed at which the mouth can he closed and manipulated in emergency, for instance when the whole enclosure is to be quickly lowered to protect the culture from "red tide".
