ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention relates to an improved sheathed-cable fish stringer system having a plurality of snap hook assemblies for use thereon. Each of the snap hook assemblies includes a conventional, commercially-available snap hook designed to be opened and inserted through the mouth and gill portion of a fish and then closed for retainably securing the fish thereon. A plurality of slide units are attached to the snap hooks by swivel means for forming complete snap hook assemblies, and the slide portion is used to attach the same with a secured fish to the sheathed-cable stringer system, as known in the art. In the preferred embodiment, the intermediate caddy loop of the prior art sheathed-cable stringer system has been eliminated and a remote caddy clip has been substituted. The clip can be attached to and carried by the fisherman s person, attire, or equipment, and it can be used to carry a plurality of snap hook assemblies thereon by the open loop portion of the closed snap hooks. The snap hooks can be placed on and removed from the clip quickly and easily without the need of first opening the hooks, as required by the prior art systems. In this manner, the fisherman has immediately available a snap hook assembly for securing a caught fish thereto, and he can then carry the caught fish, not in his hands, but by the snap hook assembly back to the remotely located stringer for slideable attachment thereto, thus further insuring the safety, freshness and health of the caught fish.
