The present invention features a sportsman's fishing net apparatus having a shaft with forward hand grip, forearm leverage/restraining ring and fulcrum for thrusting the net into the moving current for the purpose of snaring and leveraging heavy snared fish out of the water with one hand while the other hand maintains rod line tension. The forward hand grip is angularly adjustable and the grip also provides a hollow chamber for containment of a waterproof flashlight apparatus to illuminate the netting area and assist in night fishing. The positioning and geometry of the handles allow the net apparatus to be held in a standby position and still permit simultaneous two-handed operation of the rod/reel apparatus. In one embodiment of the apparatus the front grip handle and rear ring handle is integrally shaped from a continuous extruded or thermo plastic material to provide the necessary leverage action capability. A shoulder strap is releasably attached to the apparatus and the apparatus also features a elastic cord that tethers the bottom loose end of the net sieve up towards the tubular shaft in order to prevent water current from forcing the net material ahead the tubular ring and spooking the hooked fish when attempting to snare a fish that is positioned facing the current of water.
