ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Disclosed is a method for removing an alkyl halide from gas stream con- taminated therewith which comprises contacting said gas stream with a particulate absorbent impregnated with quinuclidene. The alkyl halide usually is an alkyl iodide comprising methyl iodide, optionally radioactive, and the preferred particulate absorbent is activated carbon.
