A cover for an article of furniture such as an umbrella table assembly or a chaise lounge, provides improved drainage. A portion of the cover associated with an umbrella pole is releasably secured to the pole and maintained in elevated position by the pole to provide a tent-like structure, which includes an annular peripheral skirt depending below the table top. Releasable fasteners for securing a cover to an article secure the cover on the article after the cover has been positioned on the article. The cover extends from the elevated portion at afirst angle towards the table top. The cover is manufactured to provide surfacesthat are inclined at an angle greater than the first angle when the cover is installed, so that the cover better sheds water and other debris.

La présente invention a pour objet une housse pour élément de mobilier tel une table à parasol ou une chaise longue, la housse en question possédant des caractéristiques de drainage améliorées. Une partie de la housse utilisée en association avec le mât du parasol est librement fixée au mât qui maintient celle-ci dans une position élevée pour former une structure semblable à une tente, celle-ci comportant une jupe annulaire pouvant envelopper la surface supérieure de la table en pendant jusque sous la table.
