Abstract A fitting for a thermostatic valve comprises a housing (1) and a valve insert (11). The latter consists of a shank carrier (12) and a seating carrier (13). The separating gap between them extends within the inner portion of the valve insert (11). The outer portion carrying the coupling device (36) is formed by the shank carrier (12). The shank carrier (12) is secured to the building-in nipple (4). The seating carrier (13) comprises retaining means (24, 29) within the building-in nipple (4) for securing its axial building-in length. The axial length of the cylindrical bore (33) is considerably longer than that of the sealing head (34) on the tube extension (32) of the seating carrier (13). In this way, one achieves a very universal applica- tion of the individual components of the fitting. Fig. 1.
